We Want our (Free) Music!

Back to my oh-so-ambitious goal of posting little snippets of info versus longer bits:

This article, in Blooomberg News reports that the majority who've downloaded Radiohead's new album "In Rainbows" didn't pay a thing for it:

Most Radiohead fans are choosing to download the British rock band's newest album without paying for it, according to researcher ComScore Inc.

Fewer than four out of 10 fans worldwide who downloaded ``In Rainbows'' between Oct. 10 and Oct. 29 purchased it, paying $6 on average, ComScore said today in a statement.


In a related story, in my interviews with youth and downloading behaviors, the prevailing thinking was, "Hey! I'm a kid, and those dollar songs add up!" There's also a sense of 'everyone's doing it and they can't catch all of us', which the same mentality that produces a highway of speeders.
